As we bid goodbye to 2022, we welcome 2023 with positive wishes, messages, quotes and thoughts. On 2nd January 2023, Professor Zhang Jiawei delivered an exciting new year speech titled “Ten Years, Ten Countries”, proudly brought to you by Li Foundation.
This year’s speech was hosted in Singapore for the first time at the China Cultural Centre. Audiences from all walks of life gathered at the auditorium and running at full capacity, there were listeners from Singapore, China, Canada and more. Amongst them are leaders from local business and cultural circles; Alumni from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy; National University of Singapore Business School Mandarin Alumni Association; Peking University Alumni Association (Singapore); and the Renmin University of China Alumni Association (Southeast Asia). It also attracted a group of Generation Z who were drawn to an interesting topic.
Professor Zhang Jiawei’s distinctive views on the topic, ‘Will the world be better? — Insight • Ten Years • Israel’ generated significant impact on one’s thought process and had a considerable influence on the audience in Singapore and friends around the world.
The event was broadcasted live through ‘新加坡眼Singapore Eye‘, the leading Chinese Language social media platform in Singapore and YouTube simultaneously worldwide. Audiences from all over the world enjoyed this informative speech that went on for more than three hours, generating sparks of wisdom in the collision of ideas.
After the speech, many went on to express their views and heartfelt appreciation to the organizer, Li Foundation, on social media. As we usher into a brand new year, everyone has the opportunity to review the past and look forward to the future with a belief there will always be a light that shines a path upon us.
Professor Zhang Jiawei is the founder of the Niche Behavior Research Fund. His research direction is strategic planning, organizational strategy management, business model research, and logistics supply chain management. He mainly engages in the study of business models in the field of Sino-Canada, Sino-US economic fields and niche behavior.
Professor Zhang Jiawei started the “ten years and ten countries” in 2017. He plans to spend ten years, from September to December each year, to the most representative countries in the world, ten cities, and ten universities. In 100 days, he wrote 100 essays, with an average of 250,000 words, and recorded his walking and thoughts. At present, he has traveled to Silicon Valley in the United States, Cambridge in the United Kingdom, Toronto in Canada, Saskatchewan, China Chengdu and Israel.
The book showcases how the participants challenged their limits and conquered the World Marathon Challenge and North Pole Marathon to inspire people to challenge their own limits and pursue their dreams boldly.
The book tells the stories behind the event which saw the largest number of people in history running 1045km round Taiwan in 19 days.
