Recently, the Li Foundation team welcomed Dr. Lu and Dr. Zhu from the World Future Foundation (WFF) for an exchange on advancing sustainable development and engaging Asian entrepreneurs in philanthropy.
Founded in 2008 in Singapore, the World Future Foundation is a forward-thinking non-profit organization dedicated to advancing technological innovation, environmental sustainability, and social sustainability. Through funding research scholarships at NTU and NUS, as well as Asian architecture design competitions, WFF explores future-oriented urban solutions and supports initiatives that promote a more equitable and resilient world. Drawing on a global network of experts and entrepreneurs, the foundation works to catalyze positive change by sharing insights and fostering partnerships across sectors — with the ultimate goal of building a sustainable future for all.
During the session, we discussed ways in which the WFF team can engage more entrepreneurs and potential philanthropists to give to Singapore, tapping on the country’s positioning as an Asian philanthropy hub between the East and West. Li Foundation also shared the Philanthropic Investing Collective, a three-year learning program organised by Asia Philanthropy Circle (APC), Asia Community Foundation (ACF) and elea Foundation, designed to give both new and experienced philanthropists an immersive understanding of philanthropic impact investing and Southeast Asia’s social entrepreneurship ecosystem. Participants will engage in workshops, site visits, and a peer community, while gaining practical experience through the Investing in Entrepreneurs for Impact Fund managed by ACF.
The book showcases how the participants challenged their limits and conquered the World Marathon Challenge and North Pole Marathon to inspire people to challenge their own limits and pursue their dreams boldly.
The book tells the stories behind the event which saw the largest number of people in history running 1045km round Taiwan in 19 days.
