As we gathered once again at the 100PLUS promenade on a hot Thursday afternoon, Lionel handed over 25 new bicycles to our participants of the SportCares – Li Foundation Multisport Programme “SLFMSP” from the NorthLight School.
To kick start the symbolic handover ceremony, Mr. Shawn Lim, Director at SportCares expressed his sincere thanks to Li Foundation for partnering SportCares in this impactful programme that had benefitted numerous youths and gave many a chance to establish a meaningful connection. Mr. Lim also paid special tribute to two of their SportCares Youth Instructors, Nabil and Alfonzo. Nabil, a student leader turned SportCares Youth Instructor has benefitted as a participant of SLFMSP at the NorthLight School. Alfonzo, the MC of the day is an alumnus from NorthLight School who has decided to pay it forward and give back to the community by becoming one of the youth instructors too.
The students from NorthLight School are here for their weekly 90-minutes outdoor training with their coaches. In their own groups of 5, the students were briefed the safety aspects of their new ‘toy’ and led through a series of drills by the youth instructors.
A total of 50 new bicycles were procured for the cycling component of SLFMSP. To date, 133 unique participants have benefitted from the programme that uses sports to change lives. As we continue to work closely with our partners at SportCares, Sports SG and Triathlon Singapore, SLFMSP will continue to inspire and impact the lives of more youths from different parts of Singapore.
The book showcases how the participants challenged their limits and conquered the World Marathon Challenge and North Pole Marathon to inspire people to challenge their own limits and pursue their dreams boldly.
