On Thursday, 8th of April 2021, students and teachers from the Northlight School gathered at the Singapore Sports Hub for their SportCares – Li Foundation MultiSport Programme’s weekly training. Staff members from Li Foundation, SymAsia Foundation and SportCares Foundation joined them for a run around the vicinity, taking a scenic route through Tanjong Rhu Park and the Singapore Sports Hub. Student leaders from the Northlight School and SportCares Youth Instructors took the lead in conducting a briefing and warm-up sessions for their respective groups at the starting points.
The runners supported and cheered on their group members to complete the run as a team without leaving any member behind. The students acted on Lionel’s belief that, “If you want to run fast, run alone. But if you want to run far, run together.”
After the run, Lionel commended the runners for completing the run despite the hot weather. He also encouraged the students to remain active and stay fit. The day ended with a group photo taking session and the students are already looking forward to more exciting activities!
The book showcases how the participants challenged their limits and conquered the World Marathon Challenge and North Pole Marathon to inspire people to challenge their own limits and pursue their dreams boldly.
The book tells the stories behind the event which saw the largest number of people in history running 1045km round Taiwan in 19 days.
