From 18 to 22 November 2025, a group of emerging and established philanthropy leaders from China visited Singapore as part of the China Global Philanthropy Institute’s (CGPI) Global Philanthropy Leadership (GPL) program. GPL is China’s first elite education program for high-net-worth individuals that combines strategic philanthropy education with coursework on family corporate governance, inheritance, and sustainable business practices.
As a segment of the program, Lionel, Chairman of Li Foundation and alumnus of GPL 2017, delivered a presentation titled 《励基金:植根狮城、善行致远》. During the session, Lionel explained his motivations for establishing the Li Foundation in Singapore, presented the Foundation’s mission, vision, and key programs, and shared his beliefs about intergenerational philanthropy. He also expressed thanks to CGPI for playing an invaluable role in shaping his philanthropy journey – not only by imbuing him with values and knowledge of the field but also giving him a community of peers with whom he can co-create impact.
The book showcases how the participants challenged their limits and conquered the World Marathon Challenge and North Pole Marathon to inspire people to challenge their own limits and pursue their dreams boldly.
The book tells the stories behind the event which saw the largest number of people in history running 1045km round Taiwan in 19 days.
