Passing The Baton: Rebuilding Relay Majulah with Mr Ong Tze Boon

Earlier this week, Li Foundation hosted Mr Ong Tze Boon as well as partners from Zephyr Running Club and A.D.A. Productions for a discussion on Relay Majulah 2025, a team relay cum fundraiser to celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday. Over 60 hours, 60 teams of business, government, and community leaders will conquer 600 kilometers to raise funds for Community Chest and its network of social service agencies, uplifting lives across the nation.

Relay Majulah was first launched in 2019 as a historic endeavour to commemorate Singapore’s bicentennial. Mr Ong served as its co-chairperson, steering the event to achieve an overwhelming success, with $1.6 million raised for 67 charities under the President’s Challenge. The relay also broke the Singapore Book of Records for the longest distance covered consecutively by 200 athletes in 200 hours. Li Foundation was proud to contribute by having our chairman as one of the runners and by supporting the production of a photo journal and exhibition to capture the memories and significance of the event.

This year, we are looking to rebuild the brand by organising activities to continue uniting and inspiring Singaporeans through sport, philanthropy, and community spirit. We are honoured that Mr Ong could join the meeting to offer us his insights and strategic advice, and look forward to taking this meaningful initiative to greater heights in the future!
