Li Foundation visited the Lions Home for the Elders (‘LHE’) in Bedok for a “Chit Chat with Uncle Tan”. Uncle Tan and his knowledge of medicinal plants and herbal remedies are an important part of Singapore’s rich cultural heritage. The objective of the session is to disseminate his knowledge on preventing ailments and assisting in recovery by using herbal remedies to the volunteers and staff at LHE to better help the residents.

Starting their own herb garden and also making use of the premises around LHE, different species of useful herbs flourished. With these, caregivers and volunteers can now prepare and brew suitable remedies to help boost the recuperating process of the residents at LHE.
