Li Foundation at the Philanthropy Asia Summit 2026

From 18 to 20 May 2026, the Li Foundation team – Lionel, Candy, and Jerome – attended the 6th edition of the Philanthropy Asia Summit 2026, organised by Philanthropy Asia Alliance. Centred on the theme “Asian Innovation. Global Good,” the summit convened more than 2,000 leaders across government, business, and philanthropy at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre to highlight how Asian-led solutions are shaping responses to some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

Over more than 60 sessions and partner events, speakers explored how science and technology, innovative financing, and cross-sector collaboration can accelerate progress in areas including climate resilience, healthcare, and inclusive development. The summit also saw the launch of several major reports, including studies on philanthropy as risk capital in Asia and climate adaptation financing opportunities across the region.

A key highlight this year was the strong participation of Chinese philanthropic leaders and organisations. For the first time, they joined the summit in a coordinated capacity under the leadership of the Sustainable Social Value (SSV) Collaborative, contributing to multiple discussions and sharing examples of emerging philanthropic innovation from China with the international community. Chinese media including China Philanthropist magazine 《中国慈善家》, China Philanthropy Times 《公益时报》, and Yicai 《第一财经》were also invited to provide on-site coverage of the summit.

During the summit, Li Foundation hosted the Chinese delegation from the SSV Collaborative to a special dinner gathering, creating space for deeper exchange and relationship-building among philanthropic leaders from China and Singapore. The evening reflected Li Foundation’s longstanding commitment to fostering dialogue, collaboration, and cross-border partnerships within Asia’s growing philanthropic ecosystem.

Part of the delegation also attended the launch of the Relay SG60 commemorative photobook, which captured highlights of the Relay SG60 by Relay Majulah charity relay initiative held in celebration of Singapore’s 60th anniversary in 2025. Esteemed guests, including Dr. Xiao Liming, Secretary-General of Tencent Charity Foundation,  Mr. Li Haifeng, Chairman of Fosun Foundation, and Ms. Shirley Pan, founder and chairwoman of Adream Foundation, joined the unveiling ceremony alongside community partners and supporters. The event paid homage to the original Relay Majulah and the enduring spirit of unity, resilience, and giving that it embodied, while celebrating the success of Relay SG60 and pointing the way forward to Relay Majulah 2026.

Looking ahead, the Philanthropy Asia Alliance and Tsinghua University will jointly organise the Tsinghua-PAA Impact Summit from 15 to 17 October 2026 in Beijing, continuing efforts to strengthen dialogue and collaboration across Asia’s philanthropic ecosystem. Li Foundation also looks forward to continuing its role as a bridge-builder within the region — fostering deeper connections between Chinese and Southeast Asian philanthropists, encouraging cross-border collaboration, and supporting a more connected and collaborative future for Asian philanthropy.
