Li Foundation and Lorinet Foundation Explore Shared Vision for Youth and Early Learning

On 3 February 2026, the Li Foundation team met with representatives from the Lorinet Foundation – Tamir, Suvda, and Dashaa – to exchange insights on philanthropy, impact strategies, and key initiatives. The meeting provided an opportunity for both foundations to share their respective journeys and approaches to creating social impact.

About Lorinet Foundation

Founded in 2013 by a French-Mongolian couple in Switzerland, Lorinet Foundation was inspired by the founders’ connection to Mongolia and a shared vision to support the country’s next generation. Mongolia, a young nation with 60% of its population under 35, faces significant challenges, including limited early learning opportunities, high youth unemployment, and urban resource inequalities driven by rapid city migration.

The foundation focuses on two key areas: youth employment and early childhood development (ECD), recognizing them as critical levers for Mongolia’s long-term growth.

A signature initiative is their collaboration with OneSky, an NGO that partners with governments and communities in Asia to provide responsive care and safe learning environments. Originally launched in Vietnam, the program promotes responsive caregiving and strengthens the capacity of childcare caregivers. Since expanding to Mongolia in 2020, it has generated both direct impact for children and families and systemic improvements at the district and national levels.

Shared Learning and Future Collaboration

The conversation underscored the complementary approaches of the two foundations. While Li Foundation champions innovative social initiatives across Asia, like the China ECD Collaborative, Lorinet Foundation brings deep expertise in youth and early learning interventions in emerging contexts. Both teams explored potential areas of collaboration, emphasizing capacity-building, knowledge exchange, and scalable impact models.

This dialogue marks an important step in fostering cross-cultural philanthropic partnerships, demonstrating how foundations with shared values can learn from each other and amplify positive outcomes for young people and communities.
