Asia Narratives: Shaping the Future, One Story At A Time
Inspiring Asia is a captivating initiative that delves into the heart of Asia to uncover the diverse stories that make up this vast and culturally rich continent. These narratives echo the aspirations, determination, and love that define the Asian spirit. Through storytelling, Inspiring Asia aims to amplify these voices and pay tribute to both the traditional and innovative spirit that shape the region. By championing these narratives, we celebrate the essence and values of Asians, paving the way for a brighter and unified future for all of Asia.
Embarking on 2023, a beacon of resilience and progress, Li Foundation (LIF) unveil the 2nd edition of the Inspiring Asia Micro Documentary Film Festival. Themed “Asia Narratives: Shaping the Future, One Story at A Time,” this festivity springs from our shared aspiration for a lively, diverse, and united Asia. The festival’s essence is to cultivate an environment ripe for collaboration. Collectively, our ambition is to inspire transformation, strengthen unity, and chart the course for Asia’s forthcoming chapters.
This year’s compilation of 16 films, from 7 countries and regions, curated by 28 international public welfare organizations and foundations, encompasses partners namely the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF); Museum for the United Nations – UN Live; Shanghai Adream Charitable Foundation, along with other like-minded collaborators of LIF in Singapore and Asia. The films showcased projects centered around three primary areas: education, community development, and environmental initiatives.
As our network of partners continues to grow with each passing year, LIF aspires to transform its initiative into an Asian-themed charitable event akin to the Oscars. This platform serves as a space where charitable organizations, foundations, donors, and beneficiaries can share inspiring stories, foster understanding, combine resources, and collaborate towards the betterment of our communities.
The book showcases how the participants challenged their limits and conquered the World Marathon Challenge and North Pole Marathon to inspire people to challenge their own limits and pursue their dreams boldly.
The book tells the stories behind the event which saw the largest number of people in history running 1045km round Taiwan in 19 days.
