Exchange with Humana People to People China

Recently, Li Foundation hosted Priscilla from Humana People to People China (互满爱人与人中国) for an exchange on both organisations’ work.

Humana People to People (HPP) is an international NGO founded in Europe in the 1970s to advance sustainable development and tackle the world’s major humanitarian, social, and environmental challenges. It has since grown to become a well-established NGO with a global network of 29 member associations working in 46 countries across five continents. HPP works directly with impoverished communities to build their capacity, focusing on five key pillars – community development, sustainable agriculture, health, education, and the collection and sale of second-hand clothes.

HPP China was established in 2005, with representative offices in Yunnan and Chongqing provinces, where most of its programs are concentrated. Over 20 years, it has served about 4.55 million people and has successfully eradicated tuberculosis and HIV from Southwest China. More recently, it is turning its attention to farming communities in rural areas to deliver low-carbon agriculture and climate adaptation projects, recognising the threat that climate change poses to their health and livelihoods.

Li Foundation looks forward to learning more about HPP China’s work, particularly in areas that strengthen community resilience and advance sustainable, long-term impact.
