DiDi Foundation China – Where Mobility and Data Meets Purpose

The DiDi Foundation China is the philanthropic arm of DiDi Chuxing, one of the world’s largest mobility and technology company that provides vehicles and taxis for hire across China via smartphone applications.

During her visit to Singapore, Ms. Luo Zhenzhen, Secretary-General of the DiDi Foundation China, paid a special visit to the Li Foundation. Being fellow alums of the China Global Philanthropy Institute, it was a rare opportunity for both ladies to meet outside of the institute’s campuses in Shenzhen and Beijing. Seizing the moment, they shared insights about the work and initiatives of their respective foundations.

DiDi Foundation’s social responsibility efforts in China focus on supporting drivers, advancing sustainability, promoting inclusion, and strengthening emergency response. It provides welfare and specialized training for drivers, including rescue teams; partners with environmental organizations to drive green transport and biodiversity initiatives; collaborates with global partners to reduce employment barriers for women; and works with humanitarian groups to deliver social welfare and emergency aid programs.

Leveraging technology, mobility, and community partnerships to create positive social impact, DiDi Foundation’s initiatives often align with it’s core strengths in transportation and data. Through collaborations with government agencies, nonprofits, and local communities, the foundation aims to address social challenges at scale, enhance livelihoods (particularly for drivers and gig workers), and contribute to more sustainable and inclusive cities.
