Li Foundation recently participated in the third learning session of the Philanthropic Investing Collective (PIC), held in a hybrid format in Singapore. Jointly launched by elea Foundation for Ethics in Globalization (‘elea’), Asia Community Foundation (ACF), and Asia Philanthropy Circle (APC), the PIC is a 3-year learning and collaborative journey for members to deepen their engagement across the impact investing spectrum and strengthen the investing climate for social enterprises across Southeast Asia. Representing Li Foundation were Lionel, Candy, and Jerome, who joined fellow members for an engaging afternoon of shared learning and exchange.
Ahead of the session, the team caught up briefly with Adrian from elea and Benjamin from ACF for a quick update on the PIC’s developments, especially given Li Foundation’s role as a Champion Donor to the Collective. The conversation provided useful insights into the programme’s ongoing progress, including early plans for an upcoming learning journey to Switzerland later this year, set to coincide with elea’s 20th anniversary in Zurich.
The session itself focused on the theme of “Building a Portfolio,” offering members the opportunity to reflect on how philanthropic and impact investment portfolios are constructed and managed over time. The elea team shared an overview of their current portfolio and its evolution across geographies, themes, and investment instruments, providing a practical lens into their approach. This was complemented by peer sharing among participants, fostering a collaborative environment for learning and exchange at a strategic level.
The session concluded with an informal social hour, allowing members to deepen connections and continue conversations beyond the formal programme. As the PIC continues to grow as a platform for collective learning, Li Foundation looks forward to further engagements with the community and contributing to the shared journey of thoughtful, impact-driven philanthropy.
The book showcases how the participants challenged their limits and conquered the World Marathon Challenge and North Pole Marathon to inspire people to challenge their own limits and pursue their dreams boldly.
The book tells the stories behind the event which saw the largest number of people in history running 1045km round Taiwan in 19 days.
