Li Foundation supports art that resonates—works that carry emotional depth, cultural meaning, and the power to bring people closer to themselves and to one another. Soulful Steps II: The Silent Mystery, performed on 25–26 July 2025 at the Esplanade Waterfront Theatre, is one such work. What unfolded was not just a performance, but a spiritual experience that moved across time, ancestry, and identity to touch the hearts of everyone in the room.
Created by eleven musicians and dancers from across Asia, Soulful Steps II weaves rhythm, sound, and movement drawn from Mongolian, Tibetan, Dai, and Kazakh traditions. More than a stage production, it is a contemplative journey that invites audiences to reconnect with nature, heritage, and the quiet strength of cultural roots.
Through movement and stillness, the performance speaks to something deeply human. It embodies the spirit of cultural philanthropy by preserving tradition, inspiring reflection, nurturing empathy and building community through the power of art. By supporting this work, Li Foundation affirms its belief in art as a vital language that heals, unites, and uplifts.
To extend the experience beyond the stage, Lions Club of Singapore Bifrost invited 50 children and youth from under-resourced communities to attend the performance, many for the very first time. As a long-standing supporter and key partner of Bifrost, Li Foundation is proud to have contributed to making this moment possible.
These young audiences came from Suncare SG, Tak Takut Kids Club (TTKC) by 3Pumpkins, and SHINE Children and Youth Services. Each of these organizations is dedicated to creating supportive environments where children are encouraged to grow with care, creativity, and confidence.
For many, it was more than just an evening at the theatre. It was a gentle opening into a wider world of imagination and connection. Through the quiet presence of art, they were invited to see their place in a diverse society and to feel a sense of belonging and participation. Experiences like this help nurture a more inclusive and cohesive community.
Supporting Soulful Steps II is part of Li Foundation’s broader commitment to uplift Asian creativity on the global stage. We are proud to support original works that carry the nuance, wisdom, and emotional richness of this region, and bring them to new audiences through platforms grounded in excellence and equity.
