It has been five years since SportCares – Li Foundation MultiSport programme (“SLFMSP”) started. Led by a phenomenal team, under the guidance of exceptional leadership, everyone has played a pivotal role in shaping the program’s success.
SLFMSP2.0 is an ongoing 5-years programme supported by Li Foundation and SportCares, the philanthropic arm of Sport Singapore. The programme provides school and community-based training focusing on swimming, running and cycling for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged between 7 to 20 years old who are on financial assistance as well as vulnerable children, at-risk youths, and those with special needs. It aims to provide a platform for the participants to achieve better educational and developmental outcomes as they develop resilience and perseverance to steer clear of negative influences and delinquency.
SLFMSP is heartened to receive the continuous strong support of our community partners who have been with us for the past years. Strategic partnership with National Sports Associations (NSAs) such as Aquatics Singapore, Singapore Cycling Federation, and Triathlon Singapore allowed SLFMSP to leverage on technical expertise, training curriculum and facilities relevant for our participants’ physical, cognitive, and social development. Beyond sports, SLFMSP also incorporates Youth Coaching Development Programme, an initiative that allows aspiring youth coaches who are present or former SLFMSP participants to secure their coaching credentials with CoachSG and give back to the community.
This journey has been marked by significant progress and fulfilment. Witnessing the evolution of the program has been incredibly rewarding, as it has continually inspired and positively impacted lives. By maximizing each participant’s potential, SLFMSP has made a profound difference, driving personal growth and transforming lives along the way.
